Pen Parentis Meets Downtown

(February 25-March 11, 2009 Battery Park City Broadsheet)

A city that prides itself on being home to every conceivable kind of fraternal organization and support group—gay cops, Born Again strippers—sooner or later had to hatch one for New Yorkers who are both writers and parents. Enter Pan Parentis, a new organization that provides resources to published authors who are also raising kids. The group recently launched a literary confab upstairs at the elegant Library Lounge in Todd English’s newest restaurant, the Libertine. In association with The South Street Seaport, Pen Parentis is presenting two notable authors reading from their work and answering questions each month.
